Year: Junior

Major: Integrative Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology

Hi, I’m Karen! I’ve been involved with The Berkeley Project since my first semester at Berkeley, and it’s been an amazing experience giving back as a volunteer, co-marketing director, and now co-president. It’s really inspiring to see the impact of one person or group on a site and to realize that it’s happening all over the city, every year. BP has always kept me connected to the Berkeley community and I hope to help others forge these connections too.

Community service has been a huge part of my life and I've always known that I would join a volunteer organization on a college campus. Now, I can't imagine my college life without the Berkeley Project! From being a site leader, to committee member, to marketing director, and now as one of the Co-Presidents, I have been involved with this organization since my freshmen year. I love BP because of the substantial and positive impact it leaves on our community. Hi, I am a sophomore student at Cal from Chicago! I have been a member of the Berkeley Project since the fall of my freshman year, and it was the first organization I joined. The Berkeley Project has such admirable goals; it strives not only to engage its members in meaningful work, but to extend an opportunity to the greater Berkeley community to do tangible good. During my time with BP, I have been consistently inspired by the impact we have made semester after semester. Major: Urban Studies

Hi, my name is Bella-Ngoc Huynh! I'm a first-year majoring in Urban Studies, with an intended minor in Global Poverty & Practice. It can be easy to simply focus on our individual lives, without ever truly experiencing or contributing to the community. Rather than being stuck in the Berkeley bubble, I wanted to give back and be surrounded by passionate individuals. I especially love The Berkeley Project because it enables others, including myself, to interact in such rewarding ways with the greater community that we are inherently a part of.

Co-Event Planning

Year: Sophomore

Major: Econ & Data Science Minor

I've been a part of the Berkeley Project since my fall freshman semester, so quite literally I can't imagine life without it. Admittedly, I've contemplated quitting it before; however, the fact that I actually enjoy tabling and flyering for Berkeley Project made me realize how much the club means to me, especially its mission. I love "bragging" about Berkeley Project to everyone I meet. By far, I believe Berkeley Project creates the biggest impact on campus, and even more, on Berkeley as a city. I'm excited to be one of this year's Event Planning directors and can't wait to meet all of you!

Hello! My name is Stephen Chow, and I'm a third majoring in Sociology and minoring in Public Policy. Alongside Nicole Huang, I'm one of the Co-Directors for the Event Planning committee. This will be my third semester in BP, and the reason why I joined BP is because I enjoy helping to improve the Berkeley community. All the hard work put into each semester is rewarding because at the end of BP day, the amount of appreciation BP receives is limitless. I personally enjoying being on BP knowing that at the end of the day, I've contributed to improving peoples' lives in our community.
